The Village of Margon
You will be charmed by this circulade village. The houses - mainly built in the 16th and 17th centuries - are tucked around the fairytale chateau. The Comte and Comtesse open the garden to the public from time to time during the year.
The village has a bar/restaurant which includes a small shop where you can enjoy an aperitif at the end of the day or a light meal on the terrace, or maybe pick up a baguette and some delicious cheese for lunch. Margon also has an attractive 2 star auberge (listed by Logis de France) with a restaurant for a special night out.
Art Classes
Claude Reynier, a local artist and teacher, runs five-day art courses in his studio in Margon over the summer. He is a very patient teacher and as long as you speak some French, whether you are a beginner or an expert, it is a wonderful experience, with the added bonus of superb lunches provided each day and shared with the family in their charming home above the studio - all in French of course!
